On December 26th everyone woke up to an ice storm.  Jake and Jenny had a sealing appointment at the Washington DC Temple at 2 pm, that we were all determined to make.  We were traveling in 2 cars, with Brad, Jake, Jenny and I in the first car, with Juliana and her family + Jared following an hour later.  I had worked the night shift and had hoped to sleep a bit on the way there, but the travel was just too treacherous.  I couldn't close my eyes with cars sliding and trucks jack-knifed.  We just kept moving forward. We had hoped the roads would clear as we traveled East, but unfortunately they did not improve until we arrived in DC.  It took us 2.5 hours to travel to Cumberland, which normally takes less than 1 hour.  Needless to say were were late to the Temple, but WE MADE IT.  It took us over 6 hours but we made it.  Juliana's group turned around after 2 hours.  It would have been too much for the kids to spend 6+ hours in the car.  The Temple workers were wonderful and graciously waited for us to arrive.  Jake and Jenny were sealed by Br. Pratt, in the Temple Presidency.  He had some wonderful words of advice.   Here are a few high-lights.  We only took a few pictures because it WAS FREEZING!
